At RGM's SCENE, you can visit all over the country, experience the traditional manufacturing that is inherited in that area, travel to the place you want to go once, and introduce the fishing that you encountered in that area, but the local Shiga There are many places in the prefecture that I would like to introduce to you, so in the future I would like to visit Shiga prefecture with SCENE and introduce fishing that you can enjoy at that time.
This time, I visited Omihachiman on the eastern shore of Lake Biwa.

Nature you want to protect

The first place I visited was La Collina Omihachiman, the flagship store of the Taneya group, which is famous for Baumkuchen.
Passing through the fence from the parking lot, a main shop with a presence that seems to have entered the world of animation appeared in front, and visitors were holding their cameras as they wished. As I walk closer, I am impressed that the roof and walls are made of natural materials such as vegetation and soil. As soon as you enter the main shop, the sweet scent of making baked goods tickles your senses. It is said that you can eat freshly baked Baumkuchen at the cafe on the 2nd floor, and it is said that long lines will be formed from early on holidays for the fluffy texture.

After passing through the main shop, there is a large courtyard with castella shops, offices, gift shops, and food courts that surround the garden 360 degrees. Each building has its own individuality, and you are instantly drawn into each world. The large garden is carefully maintained with plants that match the season, so you can enjoy a leisurely walk while feeling the seasons. It may be more appropriate to describe this as a theme park with nature as the theme rather than a shop.

The Taneya Group, which considers the ingredients of sweets to be a blessing of nature, is also focusing on activities to protect all the basic "nature" and connect it to the future. While interacting with the local community through participation in conservation activities for the Yoshi community seen from the office and participation in the local Yawata festival dedicated to torches made of harvested Yoshi, the world is aware that rich nature is valuable. Is sending to. Since the conservation activities of the Yoshi community are deeply related to the environmental conservation of the waterside, we were given an opportunity to reconsider what we can do now.
